I recently saw Pirates 3! So for all you pirates fans, I would reccomend you see this movie! I enjoyed it alot, even though it was a little long. I was dissapointed in the ending though, it is not what I expected.

This causes me to think about many instances and events that take place in our lives daily. We have a plan but God has a different plan for our lives. The bible tells us that while man plans a course in their heart God has a different plan for our lives. And in yet another verse God says to Jeremiah:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

and we also know....

" that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

So even though we have plans God has better ones! He has plans that will work for His glory and towards his perfect will and not our own!

So next time you wish that a movie or a book had ended the way you wanted or you wished things or situations at work or school would turn out the way you planned, remember God has a perfect plan and it will all work together if you love him and have been called according to his purpose.

So yes some thoughts to chew on! If you end up seeing Pirates enjoy!

Memorial Day

Sorry its been a couple of days I have been busy. But today is memorial day, I already posted a few video links so check them out if you haven't already. Today I will just post some patriotic quotes and songs that you should check out.

Memorial Day is a day we should remember those that fought. So think about those that fought and thank God for thier bravery as you read the remainder of my post.

"If anybody is wondering: Where are the young idealists? Where are the people willing to devote themselves to causes larger than themselves? They are in uniform in Iraq, straddling the divide between insanity and order. "
--David Brooks

"If you are ashamed to stand by your colors, you had better seek another flag. "
--Unknown

"We can't all be Washingtons, but we can all be patriots."
-- Charles F. Browne

"Patriotism is easy to understand in America; it means looking out for yourself by looking out for your country."
-- Calvin Coolidge

"And I'm proud to be an American, Where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died, Who gave that right to me And I'll proudly stand up next to him to defend her still today, Cuz there aint no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA" -- Lee Greenwood, Proud To Be An American

"American Girls and American Guys We'll always stand up and salute We'll always recognize When we see Old Glory Flying There's a lot of men dead So we can sleep in peace at night When we lay down our head." -- Toby Keith, Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue

"A thoughtful mind, when it sees a Nation's flag, sees not the flag only, but the Nation itself; and whatever may be its symbols, its insignia, he reads chiefly in the flag the Government, the principles, the truths, the history which belongs to the Nation which belongs to the Nation that sets it forth." -- Henry Ward Beecher

Once again thank you to all our troops who fight to protect our flag, our freedom and our country. To the many who have been injured in the line of duty. To the many that have died and to the families of those that died. Thank you!

Rush Rush Rush...Is there an end to the choas?

Have you ever stopped to think about what you are living for? Why do we so often rush through life? We are never satisfied. We as humans always want more, we want to do more, be better, see more and know more people. But is this worth it? Sometimes I think we ourselves don't even understand the rush. We just got lost in all of it and keep pushing ourselves onward, toward what?

This kind of goes along with my Simon Says anology, which I hope you learned from.

A song written by Alabama really put this to words for me. A portion of it is as follows..

" I'm in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why."

To read the rest of the song click here:
Lyrics

Why are we constantly wanting to "Live Fast and Die Young"?

Why all the rush the neverending chaos? We need realize that we our living for Christ alone. We need to believe that and live like we do.

So tommorow as your driving to work/school, look around and thank God for all he has created all he has given us and pray that daily you will live for him and not rush but be at peace in his will.

I don't know if that made complete sense but I hoped that you got something out of it.

God Bless Our Troops!

In light of Memorial Day weekend and the National Armed forces day, I thought I would dedicate a post to all our troops fighting in Iraq.

Freedom comes at a high cost, a cost that few are willing to pay, but our armed forces put it all on the line for this freedom. We should show our appreciation.

I thank all our United States military!

Simon Says put your hands on your head....

Just a couple of days ago, I had the pleasure of watching some kids (between the ages of 2 and 4). They were getting restless so we in our desperately and quickly tiring state decided to play a game.

Now we all remember our childhood friend Simon from those preschool or kindergarten days. Remember having to put your hands on your head or spin around or stomp your feet, all at the same time while still trying to listen to "Simon" to hear what you are to do or not to do next. And sometimes you just got tired of listening and gave up.

Isn't this alot like life? We are juggling everything: our busy schedules, school/college/work, social life. All the while God is there telling us to obey him to do this and not to that, but in the midst of it all we lose sight of his plan, we become caught up in our own way of doing it. We forget to listen. God calls us to listen. To be obedient.

So much like a childhood game of Simon says. We too our called to listen, to forsake our way of living and follow his instructions. Do it his way.

So what are you going to do? Live life forgetting to obey the one who created you or live life obeying him?
